“They came at two o’clock in the morning. They just took her from her house.”
This chilling statement isn’t part of a novel. It’s a window into the grim reality facing Christians in Libya today. Takama was arrested in the middle of the night simply because her neighbors overheard her singing hymns. In this hostile environment, being a follower of Christ can mean imprisonment, torture, or worse.
Despite the dangers, God is at work.
Last year, a breakthrough came through a courageous Field Minister named Aseel, who stepped into this darkness with unshakable faith. “If I end up in prison, that's because God put me there,” he said. “I will trust Him.”
Since then, Aseel has risked everything to minister to fellow believers in Libya who have sacrificed all for the name of Jesus.
Among them is Wadiya, a pregnant mother of five who was thrown into jail by her husband for exploring the Christian faith. She gave birth to twins behind bars, and soon after, gave her heart to Christ. After escaping her husband and fleeing to Libya, she was held at gunpoint because of her faith. Through the generosity of supporters, Wadiya was rescued, and today she is safe and beginning a new life.
Then there’s Akobo. He endured nine brutal months in a Libyan prison, where Christian inmates were beaten, isolated, and often given only salty water to drink. The torture inflicted permanent kidney damage. Yet, through your support, he received emergency medical care, housing, and a chance to rebuild.
Stories like Wadiya’s and Akobo’s are no longer rare, and they are multiplying. And as they do, Aseel and the team realized that emergency rescues alone are not enough. These brothers and sisters in Christ need a place to heal.
A Safe House in a Hostile Land
After months of searching and prayer, a safe house has been secured in Libya. It is an extraordinary answer in a country where hope often feels hard to find.
This sanctuary will offer:
- Immediate refuge for Christians fleeing violence
- Healing and restoration for those deeply wounded by persecution
- A chance to rebuild for believers who have lost everything for the gospel
However, the space must now be transformed from an empty building into a true haven—a place of safety, rest, and new beginnings.
Beds, kitchen supplies, and basic living essentials. These are the tangible needs that your gift can provide today. Each donation brings this vision closer to reality, providing our persecuted brothers and sisters with the care they urgently need.
Will You Stand With Them?
In one of the world’s most dangerous places to be a Christian, you have the power to make a life-saving difference.
Together, we can turn this safe house into a refuge of hope, where faith is not punished but protected, where weary hearts are renewed, and where the name of Jesus continues to be proclaimed in the face of great risk.
Be part of the rescue. Be part of the restoration. Be part of the sanctuary.
