In June, a devastating bombing at a Damascus church took the lives of 23 Christians gathered for Sunday worship. The attack was a brutal reminder of the cost many believers still pay for following Jesus. In response, supporters from around the world began praying—and giving. Your generosity allowed the on-the-ground team to act swiftly, bringing comfort and aid to the survivors!

But the violence didn’t stop there with the church bombing. Just days later, another wave of sectarian violence erupted—this time in Suwayda, where more Christians were tragically murdered.

And yet, in the midst of this horror, hope is rising.

Thanks to the faithful support of partners around the world, survivors are being embraced, cared for, and reminded that they are not forgotten. Their stories are being heard. Their needs are being met. And their faith is being strengthened in the darkest of hours.

One such story is Amina’s.

When a suicide bomber entered her church that fateful Sunday, her husband didn’t hesitate. He threw himself toward the attacker, shielding others with his own body. He was killed instantly. Amina lost the love of her life—but not her faith.

When Field Minister Farid visited her, she spoke through tears:

“My husband loved Jesus to the point that he sacrificed himself like his Master to protect his family and the believers in the church. He was a beloved of the Lord, so He took him to be by His side. May His will be done. I thank Him for everything.”

Through local teams supported by international partners, Amina received groceries and essentials, along with compassionate spiritual care. And she’s not alone—many more believers are experiencing similar support because others said yes to standing with the persecuted church.

Prisoners of Hope Podcast: Syria

In our podcast, two Field Ministers—Jalal and Maron—recently shared more powerful stories from Syria. When asked how people could pray, Maron didn’t hesitate:

“We need the Holy Spirit to direct us where we should go when we talk. Because those people might kill you for just one word…”

Despite the danger, these courageous ministers continue to serve boldly.

Looking ahead, we have several initiatives planned in Syria:

  • A safe house for converts escaping life-threatening violence

  • Children’s sports camps to share the gospel and bring healing

  • Emergency relief kits for families who’ve lost everything

  • Lightning Funds for urgent needs like medical care or emergency escape

These projects are possible only through the support of a global church that refuses to turn away when Christians are persecuted, a church that believes that no persecuted Christian should ever walk alone.

Thank you for ministering to persecuted Christians like Amina and so many others through your prayers and giving!
