Vice President Mike Pence recently shared at our Help The Persecuted Summit in Washington, D.C. Below are some powerful excerpts:
“I’m really here tonight just to say thank you. Thank you for being a part of a ministry that’s impacted lives and Christian communities across the Middle East and across the wider world . . .
The reality is today throughout the world, no people of faith face greater hostility or hatred than followers of Christ. In more than 100 countries, spread to every corner of the world, from Iran to Eritrea, over 245 million Christians confront intimidation, imprisonment, forced conversion, abuse, assault, or worse, simply for holding onto the truths of the gospel. It is a staggering thought.
But I’m happy to report, thanks to your good efforts and the leadership of this administration, help is on the way, and we are rebuilding Christian communities across the Middle East.
And frankly, we couldn’t be more grateful for the heroic efforts of the men and women who work with and invest in this organization. Because Help The Persecuted, each and every day, puts hands and feet on our faith. You provide physical and spiritual support to those who are literally standing outside the gates because of their faith and who they are.
It’s amazing to think with your support since 2011 you’ve helped more than 30,000 people in eighteen different countries. To the homeless you’ve given shelter; to the sick you’ve given medical care; to the abandoned and the forlorn you’ve given education and opportunities; and to those who are lost, you’ve given the greatest gift of all: hope in our Savior, Jesus Christ.”
We remain grateful to be recognized by the Vice President. His kind words and encouragement compel us to carry on with our expansion efforts in the Middle East and around the world.
