"You're already a prisoner, a prisoner of your circumstances, which is persecution. You go to bed, you're not sure what would happen. You hear a knock on your gate. You are not sure — should I open this gate? Maybe now they've come for me. In Nigeria, firecrackers will send me running somewhere to scamper for safety. You're a prisoner in your own home. But we have hope in Christ.

3 Specific Prayers for Nigeria

1

Pray for protection and endurance for believers living under constant threat. Every night, Christians in Nigeria go to bed not knowing what will happen. Pray that God would guard their homes, their villages, and their hearts as they endure this daily reality.

2

Pray for the healing of deep, unspeakable trauma. Pray for supernatural comfort, for mental and emotional restoration, and for the resources to provide pastoral care to communities carrying grief most of us cannot imagine.

3

Pray that the tide would turn in Nigeria — and that the global church would not look away. Pray that the Nigerian government would stop practicing what Gideon calls "the policy of denialism," that the international community would hold leaders accountable, and that the church worldwide would show up.

Your gift helps the persecuted church not only endure, but flourish and multiply.
