Imagine living with your entire family and three other families in one room. You’re there because you had to flee ISIS and leave your home—and your life—behind. This is a daily reality for countless families in the Middle East.

In Iraq, Help The Persecuted partnered with a local church to provide 20 apartments for safe housing. This provides people like Hanan and Saida a safe place to stay. They are so thankful to have found the Help The Persecuted safe house and have been touched by the love of God. This compassion has led them to open their hearts to the Gospel—and receive Christ as their Lord.

Help The Persecuted rented this entire block of apartments in Northern Iraq – offering emergency housing for those displaced by ISIS.

safe houses are also allowing local churches to have a place for in-home Bible studies and discipleship, where they have the opportunity to teach about the power of prayer—and they’ve seen God answer prayers for electricity, water, and work opportunities. The families in the safe houses are sharing their belongings and ministering to each other—just like the early Church in the days of Acts.
