Many people are surprised to know that it gets very cold in the Middle East! In fact, some of the most bitter winters I have ever experienced were in places like Lebanon and Jordan. Because of this, our Winter Relief Outreaches are in full swing!
This year, our team is putting on over 50 separate outreach events in 10 countries…reaching over 18,000 people. We are providing for the physical needs of persecuted believers—warm meals, Emergency Relief Kits, heating fuels, and winter clothing. We are also putting on Gospel outreach events, in which Muslim and Druze families receive the same vital relief items and hear a Gospel presentation. For many, it’s the first time they have ever heard of the love of Jesus!
We have so many stories of God’s incredible work to share! Here’s a glimpse into just two events in the Middle East and Asia.
Location: Middle East
Pastor Khaled (pictured above wearing a mask) put on an outreach event with our team through his church. He has an incredible story of being diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer and having only a short time to live…in 1992. God prompted a stranger in Canada to give him a call and pray for him—and Khaled was completely healed! Many people have come to know Jesus through Pastor Khaled’s evangelism!
At the event, Pastor Khaled talked about the love of Christ and how liberating it is to trust in Him. Our team distributed food aid and hygiene kits. One recipient shared, “Thank you for standing with us. It is truly a difficult time for us, but you are here as always, providing love and encouragement.”
In our first-ever Winter Relief Outreach in this closed country in Asia, over 500 persecuted Christians and other vulnerable people received tangible help in the name of Jesus. We distributed Emergency Relief Kits, provided meals, and shared the Gospel at a Christmas program!
Rachid, our on-the-ground Field Ministry Team member, reported that the outreach has been a huge blessing as he works among refugee families to bring help and the hope of the Gospel.
